I have seen several new people try to do 10 different Boinc project and they wonder why they are not getting any reward! It is because their magnitudes are so small that they are not being counted.
You need to see what your hardware is capable of in order to determine the Boinc projects most suitable for you. If you have 1 cpu and you pick an extremely competitive project with a very high AVG Project RAC, your magnitude will not be very high and you will loose out on potential GRC rewards. Select projects most compatible with your computer hardware, dont crunch GPU work with a CPU. Gridcoin uses this formula to compute magnitude for each project: project_magnitude = UserVerifiedRAC/(Avg Project RAC) * 100 Use Gridcoinstats to help identify such projects. Have a backup project in case your primary project runs out of work or goes down. The more competitive a Boinc project is, the harder it is to get a high magnitude. Use Gridcoinstats to help identify such projects. When you are picking a project, you need to understand that the higher the total RAC(Recent Average Credit) for a particular project is, the more work your CPU has to do to get a higher magnitude.
